      On 22 Mar 1995, Will M. Heiser, with Ike Bland, recorded one large marker for Dr. Francis Farrell and his family and noted 8 field stones. Charles Thomas photographed the site on 19 Apr 2010. The site was photographed by Chris Whitted on 9 Feb 2020. Between 2017 and 2019 the parcel surrounding the cemetery parcel was cleared for a solar farm. In the 2010 and 2020 photos, four sets of head and foot-markers can be seen in the foreground and two additional fieldstone markers behind the large inscribed marker for Francis Farrell, his wife, and two children.

      Legal Description: Parcel 74722 is cemetery parcel, including trail from Dee Farrell Road to cemetery (.23 acres). Deed KG/52, 14 Sep 1949: Paul T. and Mary E. Farrell to Frank Farrell, HW Farrell, and Glen White, Trustees for the Farrell Clan of Chatham County, NC. Also reference in deed 388/112, 5 Mar 1975.

      Enclosed explanation: Concrete slab covers grave area, 50' x 30'.

      Significant events: Dr. Francis Farrell was father of the Farrell clan.

      • Wife of Dr. Francis Farrell. Edith is listed as executor of Francis' estate in 1825, 1826 and 1827. Marker in 2010.
  4. Farrell, Francis (Dr.)   (b. Abt 1753 - d. 9 Aug 1825)
      • Husband of Edith Fields Farrell. "Father of Farrell Clan". The death date, 5 Dec 1825, on the modern grave marker is incorrect. His will was being processed in the November 1825 court sessions. The Raleigh Register Newspaper of August 1825 listed his death date as 9 Aug 1825. Marker in 2010.
