      Reported and first visited in 2006. Twenty-one inscribed markers were recorded and at least nine graves marked with fieldstones noted. Some of the inscribed markers were not found when the site was visited and markers photographed in 2023. Some may be hidden under debris. A professional study of the cemetery may well reveal more graves.

      Unusual situation: In 2006, 3 graves were covered by wooden roof-like structures, decaying (not found in 2023); one carved stone, unreadable, with circle design. Cemetery was in a clump of trees left after recent logging in 2023.
      Markers damaged: Yes.

      Miscellaneous information: GPS coords 17 s 0680755 UTM 0947698; at least nine graves marked with fieldstones Betty Holt showed us location. 5e Betty Holt supplied b and d dates for triplets. No dates on those stones. Betty Holt: 8476 Kennebec Road, Willow Spring, NC 27592.
      Last canvassed by: Jane Pyle, Britt Norwood, Jim and Bev Wiggins; 23 Mar 2006. Boe Goodwin visited the site in October of 2023, photographed some markers, and confirmed location. Goodwin had heard that some Holt family members had been contacted about removing the graves. There were notices in the Chatham Record in November 2023 to this effect.

  3. Holt, Ada   (b. 26 Aug 1858 - d. 26 Aug 1858)
      • Child of J. R. and Tyresa. infant of J. R. and Tyresa. fs A. H.. first marked stone from north. Betty Holt says Aren, Ada, and Ensley were triplets. Birth and death dates come from Betty Holt. There are no dates on the stones. Row 3.

      • Row 1. Flat marker.
  10. Holt, Katie   (b. 26 Aug 1859 - d. 15 Dec 1916)
      • Wife of John Holt. A devoted wife, a fond mother, a friend to all. crown and star at top of stone. husband's first name came from Mike Elkins via Betty Holt. Stone is broken and husband's first name illegible.. Row 1.

      • Age 80 y. Row 1. column 7. Marker found in 2006, but not photographed in 2023.
  14. Holt, Sarah Louise   (b. 1834 - d. 1926)
      • Wife of H.J. Holt. Mother. She was a kind and affectionate wife, a fond mother and a friend to all. Row 1. column 1.
  15. Holt, Sida   (b. 15 Mar 1821 - d. 26 Sep 1874)
      • At rest. fs not marked. Row 1. column 5.
  16. Holt, Squire   (b. Unknown - d. 16 Sep 1882)
      • Aged 29 yrs 11 ms 8ds. Fs:S H leaning on next grave. Grave had been covered by a wooden roof-like structure at one time, as was next grave and one other (those not marked). Photo of grave house taken in 2006. Row 5. Marker with inscription likely is not that of Squire Holt, who was born circa 1802 according to other documents.

      • A. L. Sauls was -bornd Dec-the-14th-1864 Died March-the-25-1908 - Age 14 years 3 months and 11 days. Row 5. column 2. Marker found in 2006, but not photographed in 2023.
  18. Sauls, Offie A.   (b. 8 Dec 1888 - d. 4 Jun 1907)
      • Offie Sauls was bornd Dec the 8 1888 - Dide June 4 1907 Age 17 years 6 months & 28 days. fs O.S.. Age does not match up with b and d dates but as far as we can tell this is what the stone says. Unusual spelling of bornd and dide is on stone.. Row 5. column 1.
  19. Sauls, Silay   (b. 20 Oct 1852 - d. 5 Oct 1885)
      • Bor Oct 20 1852 Died Oct 5 1885 *Spelling here is as on stone. Marker found in 2006, but not photographed in 2023.
  20. Wood, Lizzie L.   (b. 6 Apr 1904 - d. 1 Aug 1904)
      • Was born April the 6 1904 Died Aug the 1 1904 Rest baby rest.. Row 1.
  21. Wood, Notie L.   (b. 22 Jun 1885 - d. 25 Apr 1904)
      • Was born June the 22, 1885 Died April the (broken) 25 1904 While I sle(e)p thank of mee.. Spelling given here for the epitaph is on stone. Marker found in 2006, but not photographed in 2023. Row 1.
