This abandoned cemetery has at least 13 marked graves dating from 1888 to 1928. Canvassed by Lucille Glenn (1985).

Notes from a survey in about 1995: On January 13, 1807, John Hardcastle married Temperance Powell. William Poole was bondsman. They established their home in the northwestern division of Wake County (now Durham County), very near the Orange County line. They began a family cemetery on a hilltop about one-fourth of a mile from the home. Children born to them were: William (1810), Mary "Polly" (1812), Nancy (1816), Elizabeth (1819), Albert (1822), John (1824) and Marth (1826).
It isn't known how many of the above are buried here due to lack of stones (only fieldstones to many graves). Only one stone remains, Eula Harriett Williford. Much of the information has been taken from death certificates and from several elderly people who knew a lot of these people. Vandals have all but destroyed this cemetery.
