History: Clemmons Moravian Church was the vision of Edwin T. Clemmons, who was born in Clemmons 17 October 1826. In his will Clemmons made provisions for the building of a Moravian Church and school in his native village. This project was initiated in 1897 with the purchase of land and building of the school. (The planned church building was never erected, owing to the failure to realize the full amount expected from the estate. The congregation was formally organized on 13 August 1900, and services were held in the local Methodist Church for about a year until the school building was completed. Later, the school was discontinued and its assembly room, remodeled, became the church auditorium.
