      Location - Pleasant Grove Twp. on Brookstone Way off Hwy. 210 about 2 miles west of Hwy 50 McGee Crossroads.

      Coordinates: 35d 31m 12.6s N; 78d 36m 51.0s W Click here for Online Maps

      Directions: From Hwy 50 at McGee Crossroads travel west on Hwy 210 about 2 miles. Turh left onto Brookstone Way at Brighton Ridge. The cemeetry is off the right side of the street in the field across from the third house.

      Of the 6 thought to be buried there only 2 headstones remain. The nearby town of Coats was named for this family. Cemetery is currently in disrepair surrounded by a new subdivision of modern homes.

  1. Coats, John Rufus   (b. 3 Nov 1831 - d. 2 Dec 1905)
      • Husband of Nancy Elizabeth Coats. Son of William Coats and Sarah Stephenson Coats. He served in the NC House of Representatives for Johnston County in 1865. John Rufus Coats served as Justice of the Peace, Tax Assessor, Postmaster of Pratt Post Office, Superintendent of Common Schools for Johnston County, and Chairman and Member of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners. His home located near this cemetery was torn down in 2007 for a new subdivision
  2. Coats, Nancy Elizabeth Byrd   (b. 10 Feb 1830 - d. 5 Dec 1920)
      • Wife of John Rufus Coats. Daughter of Richard Byrd and Mary Sutton Suggs Byrd.
  3. Coats, Sarah Stephenson "Sallie"   (b. 1787 - d. Bef Oct 1856)
      • Wife of William Coats. Daughter of John Stephenson and Lucy Johnson Stephenson. Will of John Rufus Coats indicates he is buried here. No marker found in any survey.
  4. Coats, William   (b. 1785 - d. Nov 1856)
      • Husband of Sarah Stephenson Coats. Son of John Coats and Sarah Stephenson Coats. Will of John Rufus Coats indicates he is buried here. No marker found in any survey.
  5. Johnson, Howard M.   (b. 3 Dec 1909 - d. 15 Jan 1910)
