896    NEWELL, ANA WINGATE

      Location - on the south side of Jacksontown Road (SR 1109) 400 yards from the road. Approximately 0.1 mile west of NC 11 South.


      Small mound visible in the field. Possibly Henry Wingate is buried here. Using dowsing rods indicated about 21 more burials. Reported by those living in the area there were more headstones here than just Ada's.

      This cemetery location was provided by Stan Little, who accompanied me on the survey.

      NOTE: D. M. Newell is David M. Newell, son of James and Elizabeth Howell Newell, of Cabarrus County, NC. Ada Wingate was David's first wife.
