Directions - in Morrisville, from the intersection of Morrisville-Carpenter Rd. (SR 3014) and Church Street (SR 1637), take Church Street (only runs one way, NW) 2.1 miles to the Luther Green Center on the right side of the road, pull in and park. The cemetery fronts on Church St. next to the Luther Green Center and the Shiloh Baptist Church which is just beyond.

"In the Shiloh area, visitors will find a spirited community founded by freed men and women after the abolition of slavery. Morrisville was chartered in 1852 when landowner Jeremiah Morris gave the railroad a right-of-way and three acres of land. The Shiloh community, now a part of Morrisville, was established in 1867. The Reverend Ed Cole was instrumental in organizing the congregation of Shiloh, and was described as 'the Moses of his people - leading them to the Promised Land.' In 1925, Rev. James Dunston served as the pastor for Shiloh Baptist Church and secured 2,000 acres of land, which he partitioned into farms for the original 12 family church members. They were pioneers and entrepreneurs for the Shiloh community - co-op businesses, social clubs and a community center were
established. From those original 12 families, there now are over 150 descendants currently residing in Shiloh." A little history lesson.

The cemetery is the property of the church. It is a neat and well marked cemetery but there is a serious drainage problem. Many headstones have sunk to a level where it is impossible to read much of the data on the headstones and some will be completely in the ground unless some effort is made to stabilize the soil or lift the sunken stones.
