030    HOLT FAMILY (Anderson farm)

Location - on the farm of Mr. Dallas Anderson, off Mebane Rogers Rd (SR-1921) off Highway 49 just east of Long's Chapel Church, about five miles north of Haw River.

This cemetery is on land that still belongs to the descendants of Jacob Holt. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and Miss Edith Roney gave the information about it and Mr. Anderson accompanied Robert N Cook, Jr. and me to the spot. The old house, which originally stood on the hill above the cemetery, was moved up the road about sixty years ago and is still in use.

2. Holt, Jacob   (b. 27 Sep 1796 - d. 14 May 1883)
Husband of Mary Stepney Wilkins Holt. Aaged 86 yrs. 7 mo. 21 days "Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy."
3. Holt, Jacob   (b. 7 Aug 1827 - d. 1 May 1835)
Son of Jacob Holt and Mary Stepney Wilkins Holt. In memory of .. Age 9 yrs. 8 mo. and 9 days
4. Holt, Jane   (b. 1 Oct 1838 - d. 13 Oct 1886)
Daughter of Jacob Holt and Mary Stepney Wilkins Holt. Aged 48 yrs. and 12 ds. "With pulseless hands unfolded on the silent breast, She lies asleep in sweet eternal rest." Died of typhoid fever.
