      In 1989 J. Lamont Norwood reported that this area was used as a burial ground for the slaves of Atlas A. Burnett and John J. Fearrington. Location has not been pinpointed by CCHA.

      Privately owned: Yes. Explanation: Burial for slaves of Atlas A. Burnett and John J. Fearrington
      Cemetery size: 75' x 75'.
      Unrestricted access: Yes.
      Overgrown and easy to identify: Yes.
      Enclosed: No.
      Markers: Yes.
      Markers damaged: Yes.
      Other damage explanation: NCDOT pushed over markers with dirt and debris widening the intersection in 1975.
      Significant events: Easily identifiable with large oak tree in the senter, covered with traditional ivy.
      Miscellaneous information: Information furnished by former and present landowners, James F. and H. Ross Norwood.
