In 1963, Lois Sugg Willett, Guilford Battle Chapter, DAR, Greensboro, North Carolina, page 34, recorded 36 grave markers and 28 graves marked by field stones. Richard V. Welch surveyed the site in 1985. On 19 May 1989, Georgie B. Tilley, reported the cemetery on NCCS Form. On 17 November 1996, Audrey and Will Heiser found 26 of the 36 legible markers reported by DAR. Ten markers were not legible or not found. Heiser counted 30 illegible markers and 18 field stones with additional depressions indicating a total of 89 grave sites. More grave sites and markers might be found if the cemetery, covered with myrtle, leaves, and brush, were cleaned up. In December 2011, Jane and Alan Mann photographed all of the legible stones in the cemetery that they could locate.
