St. James was a Mission of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. In the early 1930's, the cemetery was vandalized, markers were broken, and strewn about. There are many unmarked graves.
On 6 September 1990, Will M. Heiser found one broken gravestone, clearly legible. There may be others under the leaves.
