Miscellaneous information: Reported by Stacey Curtis in 2014. A single large fieldstone marker inscribed "Dorsett Nora Mae" was discovered when a very large tree was uprooted near an old farmhouse. Deeds put the Dorsett family in the area, but do not tie the family to this parcel. Genealogical research confirmed that Nora Mae Dorsett, daughter of William Oren Dorsett and Sallie Eva (Goodman) Dorsett, is not buried here. No death record for a Nora Mae Dorsett has been found. The marker is unusually close to the farmhouse (within a few feet) and is not anchored in the soil as it was disturbed when the tree it was next to was uprooted. A professional archaeological investigation of the area should be conducted to determine if the grave associated with this marker, or other graves, can be identified.
