Discovered and reported by Van Finch survey crew, early April 2020. The crew provided some photos. Appears to have been part of plantation owned by W. G. Harris prior to Civil War and subsequently part of R. G. (Robert Gade) Bryant estate. William G. Harris represented Chatham County in the NC Senate. He was a farmer and slaveholder; served as postmaster of the Adolph post office from 1849-1858; and also later ran, unsuccessfully, as a delegate to the state secession convention. R. Gade Bryant was a successful African-American farmer and leader who helped establish Chatham's black agricultural agents and farm office, as well as the Colored Agricultural and Industrial Fair.
