In September, 2024, Boe Goodwin located this cemetery associated with the Raines family. He identified 10-15 graves marked with fieldstones, 10 with metal funeral home markers, and one military grave marker.

Miscellaneous information: Death certificate and obituary for Demetrius Raines indicate correct date of death is 30 Dec 1951 (not 1950, which is on military marker, and on the application for the marker). Census records and death certificates indicate that Demetrius Raines' parents were Early/Earlie Raines and Flora Faucett Raines. Earlie Raines' death certificate indicates that he was buried in the family plot, as were his parents, John and Kizzie Bland Raines. Information from death certificates has been added to burial records. Also buried in the plot are several infants of Earlie and Flora Raines, according to death certificates. One mostly legible funeral home marker for Wavie Raines, also a son of John and Kizzie Bland Raines, was photographed and information confirmed on the death certificate. The Raines family appears to have lived on this property from the late 1800s, and possibly earlier. Kizzie Raines is also referred to in some records as Kit.

Date of death on marker is 30 Dec 1950, but both death certificate and death announcment in the Durham Morning Herald give date of death as 30 Dec 1951. Errors apparently introduced when military marker was ordered. Info on marker NC PFC 116 Base Unit AAF WWII. Son of Early and Flora Faucett Raines.
