      Location - off Walters Rd. (SR-1702) on the old Winston family farm, across the road from the new church being built in 2006.

      Surveyed by Allen Dew in April 2006. Cemetery is in the woods beside a rough path. Some cleanup work has been done by someone who is renting the land for hunting. Another view into cemetery.

      There are eight grave stones with inscriptions, about eight footstones, and numerous fieldstones which appear to mark at least eight other graves. The cemetery is about 45 feet by 25 feet, with the headstones toward the east and footstones toward the west.


  1. Hester, E. H.   (b. 22 Dec 1853 - d. 17 Feb 1871)
        2. Wife of K. L. Hester. Age 17 years 1 mo and 26 days. "We love and cherish thy memory and believe you art gone to rest."
  2. Mangum, Annie H.   (b. - d. 19 Sep 1909)
        3. "Age unknown", "Gone but not forgotten". (stone is flat on the ground)
  3. Winston, Candice H.   (b. 31 Aug 1821 - d. 4 Sep 1876)
        4. Wife of Elijah Winston. Aged 55 yrs and 5 days.
  4. Winston, Elijah   (b. 13 Jul 1815 - d. 29 Jul 1899)
        5. Husband of Candice H. Winston. "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." (tombstone has fallen over against a tree)
  5. Winston, Infant   (b. 4 Mar 1846 - d. 4 Mar 1846)
        6. "To the memory of an infant of E. Winston, Borne and died March 4 1846" (the number 4 is written backward)
  6. Winston, Lucey A.   (b. 9 Jun 1849 - d. 7 Oct 1867)
        7. Daughter of Elijah and Candice H. Winston. Aged 18 yrs 3 mos 28 days.
  7. Winston, Nathaniel A.   (b. 20 Feb 1847 - d. 17 Feb 1865)
        8. Son of Elijah and Candice H. Winston. Aged 18 yrs minus 3 days. "Travler as you are so once was I. As I am so must you be. Prepare for death and follow me."
  8. Winston, Prudence A.   (b. 1 Oct 1844 - d. 10 Feb 1845)
        9. Age 4 months and 10 days (some of the numbers and letters are written backward)
