Directions: from Main St in Broadway take Mansfield Dr south for one blok and turn omto Vernon St. turn right onto Knowledge St and the cemetery is immediately on the right before the church. The cemetery entrance is on Vernon St across from Broadway Elementary School.

Wife of Johnny Gene Dickens. Daughter of Elbert Lee Byrd and Lula Mae Campbell Byrd. Sandra Mae Byrd Dickens, 66, of Lillington died peacefully at Wake Med Raleigh Hospital. Sandra was born to the late Elbert Lee and Lula Mae Campbell Byrd. Sandra accepted Christ as a teenager and attended church all her life. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Broadway. Sandra is survived by her husband of 44 years, Johnny Gene Dickens of Lillington; a daughter, Nicole Singletary and husband Mike of Holly Springs; a son, Justin Dickens and girlfriend Linsey Mason of Lillington; a brother, Jimmy Byrd of Sanford and his friend Elizabeth Moore of Moore Co.; and a special grand dog, Ellie. Arrangements by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington, NC, with a celebration of life service at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers, NC and burial at Southside Baptist Church cemetery in Broadway, NC.

Husband of Joyce Rogers Dickens. William Wayne Dickens, 80, of Lillington passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Malcom and Beulah Womack Dickens. Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Dickens; 2 brothers, Malcom Dickens, Jr. and Thomas Hal Dickens and sister, Beulah Howington. Wayne is survived by his wife Joyce Rogers Dickens of the home; daughter, Rhonda Dickens Hall of Lillington; 2 grandchildren, Cody and Tylor Hall; 4 sisters, Geraldine McCauley, Hazel Smith, Brenda Smith, all of Lillington, Faye Banton of Virginia; brother, Johnny Dickens of Lillington; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service is being handled by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington, NC. Burial is a Southside Baptist Church in Broadway, NC.

Husband of Linda Carol Bouldin Thomas. Son of Remis T. Thomas and Maomi Fuquay Thomas. Rabon Gene Thomas, age 75 of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (4/7/2015) with his family by his side. He was born in Lee County, son of the late Remis Thomas and Naomi Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Linda Thomas. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his daughters, Teresa Jackson and husband Allen Jackson, Sharon Stone, Shelby Boggs, Melissa Nauertz, Jennie Thomas and Joyce Thomas all of Sanford, NC; Sister Joyce Koury and husband Robin Koury of Sanford, NC; 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren also survive. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway, NC. Burial in Southside Baptist Church cemetery in Broadway, NC.

- Welborn, Paul Thomas "Tom" (b. 9 Jul 1948 - d. 16 Dec 2017)
Pastor Paul Thomas "Tom" Welborn, age 69 of Broadway, went home to be with the Lord at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was born in Winston Salem, NC, son of the late Paul Milo Welborn and Mary Magdaline Weaver Welborn. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Paul Thomas "Pete" Welborn Jr. He was a graduate of Parkland High School in Winston Salem, Tennessee Temple University, received his doctorate of Divinity from Covington Seminary in Chattanooga, TN and was the Pastor at Southside Baptist Church in Broadway. He was the Sports Director at WBFT- TV 46 and was heavily involved in the athletic programs at Lee County High School, Southern Lee High School and for football and basketball at Duke University. He was an avid fan of Duke University, the Washington Redskins and the NY Yankees. Surviving is his wife Cheryl Lynn Welborn of the home; Daughter, Tamera "Tammie" Welborn of Chattanooga, TN; Sons John Lee Roberson "Robby" and wife Heather of Chattanooga, TN, James David "Jimmy" Welborn of Fort Lauderdale, Fla, and Walter Daniel "Dan" Welborn and wife Katie of St. Petersburg, FL; Sister, Victoria "Vickie" Sawyer of Emigsville, PA; and brother, David Milo Welborn and wife Karen of Winston Salem. He had ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway. Funeral services were held at Crossroads Church in Broadway, NC and burial at Southside Baptist Church Cemetery in Broadway, NC.

Daughter of Archie Gray Womack and Lillian Dickens Womack. Former wife of Carlie James Tart. Gerline Womack, age 77, passed away at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Gerline was the daughter of Archie Gray Womack and Lillian Electra Dickens Womack. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stevie Lane Tart; daughter, Judy Lynn Tart Delguidice; sister, Bertha Womack Cordevant; half-sisters, Naomi Fuquay Thomas and Cora Fuquay Thomas; and half-brother, Floyd Fuquay. She was survived by her daughter, Beverly Tart Bowling of Sanford; son, Kenneth Junior Tart of Sanford; sister, Doris Reeves and husband Ronald of Sanford, NC; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Burial took place at Southside Baptist Church Cemetery in Broadway, NC.
