001    BUCHANAN BURIAL GROUND

Location - on High Ridge Rd between Hwy 226 and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Directions: take Hwy 226 or the Blue Ridge Pkwy to Little Switzerland. Get off onto High Ridge Rd and go to the Little Switzerland Inn. The cemetery is between the tennis courts and the restaurant. It is on the Mitchell county side of the Mitchell county - McDowell county line.

The cemetery is inside a concrete block wall and has a plaque naming the cemetery: Buchanan Burial Ground, Established 1878, "Forever a place of rest for our loved ones" View #2 of the cemetery.
