075    HOLLAND, BENNETT, FAMILY

Location - from Main Street in Holly Springs, turn onto Holly Springs-New Hill Road (SR 1152). Travel 1.2 miles and bear right onto Old Holly Springs-Apex Road (SR 1153). Travel 0.8 of a mile and the cemetery will be on your right.

There is a little driveway to pull in off the road. Off the beaten path for most Wake County dwellers, this little private cemetery is located on Old Holly Springs-Apex Rd., (SR. 1153), near a landfill and near the Wake County Shooting Range.

There are many graves marked with plain field stones and some marked with common bricks. The cemetery is clean and is being cared for. In the Holt plot there is a stone marked "Son" and the rest is indecipherable.

Bennett Holland was the originator of the cemetery and is in one of the unmarked graves. George A. Holland, his son, continued the cemetery use and passed it along in a will which designated the name of the cemetery as "Bennett Holland Cemetery"
