Location - Ten-Ten Rd., (SR 1010), at the intersection of Rand Rd, Garner, Wake Co., NC.

Directions - from Raleigh: South on Hwy. 401 to 1010, turn left and stay on 1010 for several miles, crossing Old Stage Rd., and passing Holland Church. Continue until you see two small country stores on the left, one with "Pollard" on the sign. You are now at 1010 and Rand Rd., and on the right is a small cemetery, at the entrance to a newly created subdivision "Rand Meadows".

The cemetery lay hidden under weeds until the subdivision began to clear the land. It is now clearly visible, surrounded, at least the part with monuments, by orange tape, and stakes delineating the burial ground and some of the graves. All of the monuments are laying flat on the ground, some bases and monuments are intact, some are broken. The cemetery is included in Lot #1. It appears to be in serious danger and in need of restoration and a fence to protect it. Behind the roped off area there are sunken spots that indicate unmarked graves.

Right next to the cemetery is a stake marked LOT #1 on the front; Stake #126 is marked cemetery and LOT #1, which implies that LOT #1 includes the cemetery. At the rear of the cemetery is a stake marked LOT #1 and cemetery. Beyond the tape enclosed cemetery there are the tell tale sunken areas that suggest other unmarked graves outside the orange taped area.

This cemetery is called RAND on the map, and no monument remaining shows that name, further suggesting that there may be other graves in the area.

Wife of Alfred Upchurch. age 32 years, 3 months, 7 days. This once impressive monument is in pieces. Across the top of the obelisk "In Memory Of." On the base "For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon earth." JOB XIX .25
