Directions: Turn into McKinley's Mill from Hopper Drive off of Forestville Rd, turn left onto Deering Drive. Near the end of the cul-de-sac the developer placed a gravel walk path for the public to access this cemetery.
Surveyed and photographed by Mrs. Deborah Scott Spencer on 16 Oct 2009 with assistance of Joanne Sutherland.
Notes: Michael Rogers was the first Sheriff of Wake County. Michael Rogers owned the land this cemetery sits on. The Whitakers and Haywoods are descendants of Cecilia and Michael. The Tax Dept. named this cemetery after grantees; Dr. Fabius J. Haywood and wife Martha, hence "Haywood Cemetery". It is really the Rogers Family Cemetery, they being the oldest buried here as well as the original land owners.
