      • Wife of Harvey McGilveary. Daughter of Neil McLean and Lena Mae McLean. Dandie M. McLean, age 83 of 709 W. Garden St., Sanford, NC passed on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Westfield Rehabilitation And Health Center, Sanford, NC. Around 12:45, September 15, 2018 Mother Dandie McLean received her wings from God and she took flight to her Heavenly Home. Mother Dandie Margaret Mclean was the daughter of the late Neil and Lena Mae Mclean. She was born in March 26, 1935 in Harnett County, North Carolina. Mother Dandie was the second oldest child. She graduated from Shawtown High School in 1955. She attended the Goldsboro Raleigh Institute and was ordained a Mother. She was married to the late Harvey McGilveary. Mother Dandie was a very dedicated woman; to God, her children, family, and work. She worked at Federal Spinning for years until they went out of business. Mother Dandie worked for Avondale were she was chosen to travel with the President and CEO to Washington, DC. She enjoyed traveling on trips with the job and going to the assemblies when her health allowed. Mother Dandie joined and attended Moore Union Church at an early age. She later joined First Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ under the leadership of Bishop Linwood Manning. In 2005 she joined Divine Outreach Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ. There she served as the Head Mother and President of the mother board. She also served on the Missionary board, pastors' aide, and she did youth moment every Sunday. She was preceded in death by her father, Neil McLean; mother, Lena Mae McLean; one son, Anthony Wayne McGilveary; five brothers: Neil McLean Jr., Joe Louis, Robert, Johnny and Charles; two sisters: Elouise Swann and Catherine McLean. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Dr. Margaret McGilveary Allen of Pineview, and Melrose Durham (Lonnie) of Sanford; three sons: Harvey McGilveary of Puyallup, Washington, Robert McGilveary of the home, and Rodney McGilveary (Karen) of Sanford; two sisters, Annie Doris McGilveary (Jessie) of Olivia and Annie Pulley (Robert) of Sanford; fifteen grand-children, thirty six great grand-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and family.
