Wife of W.E. Baker. Maydell Batchelor Baker, 96, of Raleigh, formerly of Sanford, NC, passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lee County, NC to the late Iva and George Batchelor. Maydell was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, W.E. Baker, and two brothers Pharus and Ottis Batchelor. Maydell graduated from Campbell College and East Carolina Teachers College and taught elementary school in Lee and Harnett Counties for 28 years. She was a lifelong member of Jonesboro Baptist Church and loved being involved in many activities there. Maydell is survived by her daughter Alicia Kroll and husband Barry of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Brennan Kroll, Colin Kroll and wife Sarah and Kathryn Kroll, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. Arrangements were handled by Miller Boles Funeral Home and a Celebration of life was held at Jonesboro Baptist Church with burial at Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford.

Mrs. Bost was born in Lee County, a daughter of the late William Everette Roseman and Alda Kelly Roseman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harrington Bost Sr, her son, David Everette Bost, two sisters, Elderlene R. Keller and Ruth R. Cameron and a brother, Edwin U. Roseman. Pete loved gardening, playing bridge, cooking for friends & family, and her Church. Mrs. Bost is survived by her children, Susan Bost Hunsucker (David), of King, NC, James H. Bost Jr of Sanford, and Alison Bost Coward of Rural Hall; her daughter in law Sandra Newman Bost of Waleska, GA; six grandchildren, Abbey C. Clayman (Jeremy), J. Reece Craven (Katie), Maggie A. Craven, Anna C. Hall (Nich), Erin N. Bost, and Paula A. Bost; four great-grandchildren, Lilah and Hank Clayman, and Landon and Molly Kate Hall; many nieces & nephews. Mr. Bost was born in Sanford, NC, son of the late Fire Chief, Sam Bost and LaRue Griffin Bost. Jack spent 29 years at GKN Driveline in Sanford, but his passion was always being a volunteer firefighter from which he retired after serving for 20 years. Jack enjoyed being with his family and loved being a grandfather. Jack is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Bost; his son SFC, Derek Cascarelle (Lindsay); daughter, Staci Sansone (Pete); brother, Danny Bost (Ann); sister, Pamela B. Bresson (Alan); grandchildren, Steven, Anthony, and Andrew; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by Rogers Pickard Funeral Home of Sanford, NC.

He was born in Lee County to the late Hugh Gurney Brewer Sr. and Ollie Martindale Brewer Olander. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives Eleanore Johnson Brewer and Joan Holder Brewer; grandson Michael Lawrence and siblings Winslow Brewer and Ethel Payette. Hugh served our country in the United States Navy retiring after 20 plus years of service. He also retired from the Lee County as a maintenance supervisor. Hugh was also a Lee County Deputy Sheriff and a Mason at Buffalo Lodge # 172 A.F. and A.M. in Sanford, NC. He is survived by son Hugh G. Brewer III and wife Elvie of Havelock; daughters Julia Brewer Fogleman and husband Dr. Hal Fogleman of Laurinburg, Linda Brewer Lawrence of Hamlet; brothers Clarence Brewer of Carthage, Lynn Brewer and wife Daphne of Sanford; sisters Carolyn Fallin and husband Charlie and Phyllis McDowell all of Sanford; grandchildren Stephenie Bacon, Bobby Lawrence and wife Jill and Johannah; step-grandson Frances Brewer; and great-grandchildren Emily and Barrett. Arrangements were handled by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with the funeral service in the funeral home chapel and burial at Buffalo Cemetery.

Mrs. Brickhouse was born in Randolph County, to the late William Bryan Burgess and Edith Frazier Burgess. Her love for music showed through her many years of teaching piano and serving as the Organist for Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church. She also taught piano in Harnett County Schools in the early 1970s at Boone Trail High School in Mamers, NC. Mrs. Brickhouse was preceded in death by her husband Norman Wesley Brickhouse. Surviving relatives are her son Dudley Brickhouse and wife Tina of Hilton Head, SC, and her grandchildren Bryan Brickhouse of The Woodlands, TX, Jenna Brickhouse of Fort Worth, TX, and Brad Brickhouse of The Woodlands, TX. Arrangements were handled by Bridges Cameron Funeral Home of Sanford, NC. The service took place at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with burial in the Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford, NC.

Husband of Jo Ann Burgess Brickhouse. Norman W Brickhouse, age 84, of Sanford, NC, died at Central Carolina Hospital. He was born in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Emmett Brickhouse and Gertie Scott Brickhouse. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Clara Mae Brickhouse, Gladys Brumback, Audrey Nash, Virginia White; and brothers Miles Brickhouse and Harold Brickhouse. Mr. Brickhouse was a popular self-employed caterer and member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church. He served our country in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Burgess Brickhouse; son Dudley Brickhouse and wife Tina of Hilton Head, SC; brother Leon Brickhouse and wife Kathleen of Elizabeth City; and three grandchildren Bryan, Jenna and Brad Brickhouse. She loved to bake and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her companion of 30 years Rob Bartee, her children, Danny Matthews of Aubrey, TX, Gene Matthews and wife Kimberly of Sanford, Darlene Wallace and husband Glen of Sanford, and Deborah Maria of Sanford, brothers, Larry Watts of Olivia and Lonnie Watts and wife Cathy of Sanford, grandchildren, Marshall, Apryl, Tiffany, Jessica, Kyndle, Travis, Tucker and Delaney and 10 great grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller Boles Funeral Home in Sanford, NC. Funeral services were held at Miller Boles Chapel with burial in Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford, NC.
